NewTrix dog halter Shelter Gift

Millions of dogs reside in animal shelters awaiting adoption. In most cases dogs arrive at shelters due to behaviour or training challenges. Happily, rehabilitation exists, and with the dedication of trainers and volunteer dog walkers many shelter dogs receive schooling to improve their chances of adoption and adaptation to new homes.

Rambo & NewTrix dog halter

Rambo

Earlier this year we told you about one such dog, Rambo, an American Bulldog/Pitbull Terrier mix from The Providence Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island. Described by his trainer as “dog aggressive and terrible on leash”, Rambo pulled like a locomotive and was antagonistic toward other dogs. One would imagine Rambo a dangerous and scary dog and an unlikely candidate for adoption. But his sweet nature and disposition convinced shelter staff he was trainable. Jim O’Neill, of Great Dog K9, began training Rambo with a NewTrix dog halter. The staff and volunteers at the shelter were so amazed with Rambo’s rapid improvement they loaded up on NewTrix halters for the other residents of the shelter. This story has the happiest of endings. After his rehabilitation Rambo was adopted out to a new home where he and his new “mother” are very happy. We are told Rambo still goes back to visit his friends at the shelter about once a month.

The NewTrix dog halter is a key piece of equipment for shelters. It eliminates pulling on the leash, allowing even the strongest dog to be walked and exercised.  There is no pain or fear associated with the NewTrix dog halter, it is pure science. The NewTrix dog halter is worn loosely on the dog’s face and works by triggering the opposition reflex. Unlike pressure on the front of a dog’s neck or chest which causes a dog to lean into the pressure, the NewTrix dog halter applies pressure on the back of the dog’s neck and the dog leans back into it and stops pulling. There is no strain on the handler; the NewTrix dog halter does its job each time the dog pulls. The NewTrix dog halter is a jump start to a behaviour modification regime which will hopefully result in a more adoptable pet dog.

We are busy introducing the NewTrix dog halter into as many shelters as possible.  We know the tremendous benefit of our product for shelter dogs and for shelter workers. Can you help? Yes, you can. Purchase a NewTrix dog halter shelter gift here.  We will forward a NewTrix dog halter to a participating shelter. If you are buying a NewTrix dog halter shelter gift on behalf of someone else you will be provided with an acknowledgment which you can forward to them, or by filling in the pertinent sections of the shipping form request us to let them know electronically or by regular post.

Rambo learns NewTrix!

Rambo, the American Pit Bull

Rambo

This is Rambo, an American Pit Bull Terrier. He’s looking for a home. We heard about Rambo from one of our favourite trainers, Jim O’Neill of Great Dog K9 Training in Rhode Island.

Rambo resides currently in the Providence Animal Rescue League. Jim  told us that although he is a great dog, when he started training him Rambo was “dog aggressive and terrible on leash”. Connie Bolduc, who works at the shelter, said “Jim has been working with Rambo and turned us on to using the NewTrix and I have to admit, he is a completely different dog with it on!”

We are sending Rambo his own NewTrix and hoping he finds a home quickly. Here’s a video of Rambo wearing his NewTrix and learning to walk nicely with another dog.
